Is anyone else experiencing technical problems with TJ.com? Mine is a new account, but the direct link still does not work. Maybe they just haven't gotten to it. Is this SOP for the guys that run it?

Isn't the link supposed to have my journal's name in it:

not: http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=4985
but http://www.trailjournals.com/coralrives/

That's the link the TJ site provided me. How did you get the other link Mrs. Dino?

Hey coralrives,

If you go to your first journal entry page (as a reader, not logged in as the writer) and just copy what's in the web address bar, that is the direct link to your journal. I've not seen any links w/names in it before. If you'll notice the last 4 numbers in the link that worked is actually what determines whose journal you are going to. Notice it has in it, trailname=4985. Mine is trailname=4316. I only discovered this when I tried pasting my link somewhere, accidentally cut off the last 3 numbers and ended up linking to Leif's journal (one of the people who run TJ I think). He was #4. So, try that, I think it will work for you.

 It said on the EDIT PROFILE PAGE of TJ.com this:
Direct Address:http://www.trailjournals.com/CoralRives/ (http://www.trailjournals.com/CoralRives/)

So I assumeed thats was the link to send out for my family etc.

How did you get the other link Mrs. Dino? This might work if Lief and ZipDrive (the guys who run TrailJournals.com) have set up a database on the side server to find trail names and redirect to the number assigned to that trail name by the database system that actually keeps up with where the journal info is within the database. Storing the info by number instead of name make it faster and easier for the server to find the info.

I found you by going to the 2007 AT hikers and selecting you. I was not able to find you by searching for your trail name.

When I first set up my TJ, it took several days for the direct link (trailjournals.com/earthworm) to work. Give it 'til Saturday or so and then email them if it still isn't working.

It is probably somethiong like FD stated and that link is just waiting for the Trail Journal guys to set it up and release it.

Coralrives isn't my trail name, its an old business name, so I haven't entered a trail name yet. If you click on that link I provided in the post above, you'll see that they intended it to be a link to my journal...
