Watching the news the last few days, shows me that this big fire that's killed firefighters and was set by an arsonist seems to be very close to the trail.
I'm thinking it must be near the stretch when you come off of San Jacinto (NOBO) and to the drinking fountain at the bottom, it sounds like it's somewhere in the next few miles where you cross the interstate and head up towards all the windmills thru that ghostown.
It is so unfortunate that someone would perhaps intentionally start this thing of course.
I just hope there are no southbounders trying to get thru that part as this should be close to the season where any SOBO hikers would be close.

Those California fires are just west of the PCT and south of I-10.

Trail maintainers are sure going to have their hands full from WA to CA. God bless them!!!
