I was just watching Good Eats on the food network and it was a show where the host, Alton Brown, made jerky using furnace filters and a fan as a dehydrator. I went online and found the recipe. I am going to try it this week, but thought you all may find it interesting so found the web page with it.

I have made jerky just slicing the meat thin, marinating it then place on the racks in the oven, crack the oven door and cook several hours at the lowest temperature setting on the oven. It is done when totally dry. Works great
