One Day on the Appalachian Trail
An idea was proposed on the Trailjournals.com AT forum in March suggesting that a group of hiker/photographers could document the entire length of the AT in one day.
This would present a 'snapshot' of the entire AT on one day.
Such a photo essay could be published with the profits benefiting the Appalachian Trail Conference. The current proposed date is May 30, 2004.
An endeavor of this magnitude requires the participation of hundreds of hiker/photographers, at least 211. Coordination and planning is in its preliminary stages, and is vital to the success of the project.
If you would like to participate and contribute your photographs of one approx. 10 mile section of the AT, taken on the specified date, please email your contact info to
[email protected], so that the organizers can contact you over the winter.
Submitting this info is mostly to gauge interest in the project and allow us to contact you later. We do not intend to sell or use this info in any way unrelated to this project.
