This 30 mile trail starts in the lower elevations of Pisgah National forest and climbs to it's termination on the 6000 foot Cold Mountain. It showcases the bio-diversity that is unique to the North Carolina mountains. It begins in a southern hardwood forest and ends in a boreal forest that is more commonly seen in southern Canada. The views along the way are breath-taking, making this one of the top ten hikes in the North Carolina mountains.
