Anyone around Chapel Hill?

I am looking at doing a test run or two and was wondering if anyone here lives around Chapel Hill NC and wanted to go up to the mountains anytime. I do not have a car so I am stranded and dont want to have to take a long bus trip until I go on my section hike in March. Looking at a weekend trip soon. Will assist paying for gas or whatever we negotiate.
