Hey everybody - Saturday June 7 is National Trails Day. If you are not out thru-hiking, or section hiking, its a great time to give back to the trails. There are activities taking place all over the States next Saturday. In the Southeast, the Cumberland Trail Conference is continuing their Big Dig, the Mountains to Sea Trail is having a number of work parties, as is the Foothills Trail, the Benton MacKaye Trail, the Georgia Pinhoti Trail, and many more.

Please take a few minutes to check out the following link to see if there is something in your area to join in on;

I'll be at Centennial Park in Atlanta on Monday June 2 representing the American Hiking Society from 11-2 at a Trail Days event, and will be helping out the GA Pinhoti Trail next Saturday with some trail maintenance. The theme of this years event is "Healthy Trails, Healthy People". If you live or work in the Atlanta area, come on down and say hello on Monday. We'll be directly across from the CNN Center.

Thanks for the link, TNJED. Surprisingly, I found a small trails project just north of me in in southeast Michigan at a municipal park that I enjoy.

Here is a more specific link to the state search page so people don't have to wade through the menus like I did:
