I try to plan my hikes on a full moon. Makes for better night hiking, the woods just look neater to me if I get up during the night, etc, etc. I know the full moons had various names according to different cultures. I've always been under the impression that the full moon in September was the "Harvest Moon" and that the following full moon in October was the "Hunter's Moon" and had wondered what the names of the other moons were. This article on Yahoo! (http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20061229/sc_space/fullmoonnamesfor2007) gives the names of the moons according to the eastern Indian tribes, if I read it correctly. Anyone know the names of all twelve moons according to the older farmers, woodsmen, etc?

I found the similar list on the Farmer's Almanac:

Knew about the Old Farmer's Almanac, haven't heard of that publication before. Tracks with the article on Yahoo, so I guess I've got my answer.

Thanks.
