To be different I'm guessing Hall Mountain lean-to?
Nope, If you look real close, there is an AT sign in the left background, just beyond the 5' snowdrift.

Shelter on Mt. Bigelow?
That was my guess. Old shelter at Horn's pond.
CORRECT
Horns Pond, The original one from 19??
I spent a rainy day reading & writing and playing cards in that shelter. Every once in a a while, a 5 mile day is in order!

CORRECT Horns Pond, The original one from 19??
Built by the CCC a-way back in the 30s. You're not supposed to, but I've slept on the 'shelf' to escape gawdawful snoring down in the big new lean-tos.
Yeah, we didn't have any choice but to sleep on the shelves(no floor in this one) because the other two shelters were full, in February believe it or not.
Thanks for adding the date built, well built at that. One of the 1st?
The pic didn't offer much to go on other than the construction details as far as IDing location.
Horns Pond, The original one from 19??

2 nights free lodging at Horns Pond Shelter of course, You must provide your own transportation and food and share the 1936 shelter with Rickboudrie and Bloodroot. You each get your own SHELF.!!!

You had better be praying real hard for snow cause there is none, even the shelter mice can't find enough for a snow cave:rolleyes:

Weather is absolutely unreal. I remember back in the day when my parents lived in Skowhegan it was cold and snowed constantly this time of year.
