A sad day in hiking and poor 'ol college boys history....

God knows how much my student loans would have been without the 20 cent noodles.

So I guess if you live on Ramen, you can live a long happy life like Mr Ando. Thanks for this awesome invention.

so I guess this goes to prove that deep fried noodles and MSG are good for you after all.

You can bet that as rich as ramen got that dude that he didn't have to eat it very often. He probably had a couple of gourmet chefs on staff.

THe meal of choice for hungry broke young infantrymen at the end of the month. Like.06 per pack when bought by the case...

Years later, in the Natl Guard, we refined ramen to field grade beer cheese soup. Cook up the ramen with the flavor pack added (flavor type not important). Drink or pour out the broth. Mix in one (1) MRE cheese-spread pack and top off with cheap beer like Beast Light. Share with buddies. That's good eatin...

What a contribution, RIP.

Read the article...he died right after having noodles for lunch. How do we know that this wasn't the FIRST time he'd actually ever tried his own product?

"Ando gave a speech at the company's New Year ceremony and enjoyed Chicken Ramen for lunch with Nissin employees on Thursday before falling ill, Japan's largest daily Yomiuri reported."
I'm staying away from Ramen!

On the good news side....Once they got him in the casket it only took 2 minutes to embalm him. :)
