Is it proper to cast a presidential vote for a person just because he is a long distance hiker? Just kidding. As expected former Vermont Governor and successful Long Trail end-to-ender Howard Dean has announced his intention to run for president in 2004. Does he support a paid six month vacation for anyone who wants to hike a long distance trail? Wouldn't that be nice.

Maybe he can get some federal funding for trails and National Parks.

For those of us a little further south, what is his name? Not familiar with who is/was govenor of Vermont.

Thanks

Howie Dean. He has no chance of winning a presidential election.

I don't vote based on who has a chance of winning. I don't need polls to tell me who to vote for. I hope the rest of you don't either.

I vote on issues, principles, integrity and respect for the Constitution, not whether or not they hiked a trail or not.

He's run before and I liked him then, also. But he
