:banana feb 19th for pit dog and i unless weather is going to be an issue then we will start on the 26th no matter what. we are heading south from damascus. we have between 3 weeks to a month for hiking..we may cross paths at some point along the way. my guess would be around the smokeys....peace out , nitewalker:D :sun

Unfortunately I waited too long to address a few problems so I have to delay until April 5th to recover from foot (bone spur big toe joint) and eye surgery (cataract).

I will be about a month behind.

Mountain Crossings is open on Sunday and you can manage a re-supply there.

Grocery stores in Cleveland(South) and Blairsville(North) on Rt. 129 are open on Sundays as well. You can negotiate a ride to either town at Mountain Crossings.

Well, glad you know what you need to do, which is good. Now you can plan for it. April will be a great month to hike. But us Marchers will miss seeing you. Maybe catch you at Trail Days (?)

Yes, true. Esp if they are starting late March.
I hope to see maybe a few Feb people. Not that I will be fast, but hope it works out that way as my start date is March 1st (along with 20 others).

Actually the April 5th start makes Trail Days more likely for me. I expect to be just about 50 miles north of there so I can catch a ride back. If I had left March 5th I was going to be around 500 miles further north which would have been a hassle.
