Hi all,

Next year I hope to hike the PCT (this year the AT - Yippee!!). I have a trail guide for the PCT - but is there a forum similar to this one - for the PCT? I've found reference to an "email" forum, but, I don't really know what that means. I don't really need/want 100 emails coming every day.

I apologize for asking here - kind of feel like a traitor. LOL . But believe me, the AT is my 1st/foremost love.

No actual forum like Whiteblaze but there is the pct-l ...a list server for past/present/future PCT hikers

http://mailman.hack.net/mailman/listinfo/pct-l

Join this list and start reading/asking questions ...

I'm in the planning stages for a PCT hike myself.

No e-mail this way. You still have to subscribe to post, though. Just subscribe in the NO MAIL mode.

Whiteblaze also has a PCT forum in the other trails forum as well. But PCT-L gets more traffic.

I tried pinging backcountry.net and my connection timed out.

In non-geek speak: The computers that host backcountry.net ain't working. They were working last nighy at about 8:30 PM MST.

Hopefully Ryan will have the problem fixed soon....

There is a fairly new on-line PCT resource called "Adventure on the PCT" :

http://adventureonthepct.com/ (http://adventureonthepct.com/)

This is a forum hosted by a hiker known as Magnet, dedicated entirely
to the PCT.

There's also a forum here on WB in the 'other trails' section.

Actually, yes, there is. It's brand new, so I have no idea how good it is, and I've only spent a grand total of about 5 minutes on the site, but it's patterned after good ol' Whiteblaze, so the format should at least be familiar. Here's the link...

Gah! I guess I should have read through the entire thread first. Sorry for the repeat info everyone...
