I have 130 cm poles that are one piece. Can I carry them with me as part of my luggage on a train or bus? If so, do I have to package them or can I just carry the poles on to the train or bus?

I've carried my poles on the train several times. No problems.

Ski poles go on buses and trains all the time. If you carry them on, then no need to box them up. But, if you don't carry them on, then best to put them in a tube. Skiers typically use 6" PVC drain pipe with a cap on each end.
