When are the trees leafed-out in the spring in GSMNP???

I live in Franklin, NC, a little under an hour from the Park. We usually see buds on the trees here by the first week or two in April and the trees are full by the last week of April or the first week of May. I would think that the trees in the Park are on a similar schedule but they may run a few days behind as they are at a higher altitude than Franklin is.

Depends on the elevation. My son and I hiked to High Rocks last year over Memorial Day weekend. At the top (about 5000 ft), the leaves were still in early development.
