I was hiking sobo from Woody Gap on Saturday and wondered if anyone else has had the same experience I have - that when you come off Ramrock and descending into Grassy Gap, there is a scarcity of blazes going sobo. The Trail was covered in leaves and some blowdowns, and with the lack of blazes I thought I had lost the Trail (not sure how, since in that section there aren't any real side trails), in fact I retraced my steps nobo for about 5 minutes and saw a blaze, then knew I was OK and continued on sobo. Anyone else had the same thoughts? I was thinking about contacting the section maintainers at the GATC but wanted to get some feedback first.
No slam on the GATC - I am a member, and I know those folks put in some long, hard hours doing great work. But if it was my section and people were having trouble, I'd want to know.
