I was wondering if anyone here every listened to podcasts on trailcast.org and knows whether or not the guy is going to be doing any new ones. They help me to get through long paper grading sessions.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I read in a post a while back that he was moving or something and that it would be a while before he posted anything again. I hope that he has not decided to stop doing the interviews because I love listening to the podcasts. I wish he would interview Ray Jardine.

I hope Bob is OK. I haven't heard about him or how he's doing in some time.

I too miss the Trailcasts. There's no indication when or if they'll resume so, in the meantime, I've been enjoying the Practical Backpacking podcasts at:

Speaking of Ray Jardine...anyone following his and Jenny's blog on their Antarctic adventure at http://www.rayjardine.com/nft/index.php ?

I have been following this one with great interest. I'm surprised that they were able to do it with so little physical damage. The Antarctic is not a kind and gentle place.

PS. I also greatly miss Trailcast. I hope he is doing OK. I really thought he had a great interview technique.

Just got iPod for x-mas--love Trailcast but was also noticing the long time since his last posted podcast. I hope he's okay too. I think I'll try to locate him via trailcast.com or possibly Miss Janet can help us as she was in phone contact with him.

For those who were worried about Bob (Red Cake) from Trailcasts, he has popped up in an interview on Backpackinglight (http://backpackinglight.co.uk/page17.asp) from the UK. Click on the link here and go down to the 'Whatever Happened To Trailcast?'. I'm just finishing listening to it and it's good to hear Bob is all right and things are going well in his life.

Yeah, this is an old post. The podcast you are looking for is still available, but no longer displayed on the opening page.

You can find it here. (http://backpackinglight.hipcast.com/deluge/4bd6f150-7c8e-4683-02a0-346db0066cce.mp3)

I downloaded some of them onto my iPod. It was a blast to hike on the PCT this summer while listening to the likes of Scott Williamson, Andy Skurka and FLyin' Brian, and have the humor of Squatch and Miss Janet.

Wish he hadn't stopped doing them-someone should keep up this tradition.

I want to download these podcasts. Never listened to any of them before. Have heard all the backpackinglight and practicalbacking podcasts. The trailcasts still show up on itunes but will not download. Does anyone know if they are archived somewhere? I can't find anyway to get in touch with Bob.
