What about a section hike in the Shendoahs say between Waynesboro and Front Royal?

How early in the year could one do a section around there without freezing one's tail off?

How early do the hostels start up?..

Lets see theres that nice couple near the fish hatchery that fix great suppers, Terrapin Station is near there somewhere, and The YMCA at Waynesboro....

When do those resorts Skyland and Big Meadows open up... I am really getting restless to get back out there....

1. Plan your next trip
2. Get on Whiteblaze to talk about your next trip, your gear, all else
3. Go out on trip
4. Return and talk about trip on Whiteblaze while
5. Planning your next trip

April I would say, March if you don't mind so cold.

I did Harpers Ferry to Thornton Gap the last week of April 2006. Warm days, cool nights, some rain - pretty nice hiking weather. Most everything in SNP is open then, but some hostels don't open until there are more hikers out and about. Usually early May as you get that far north...
