I've been looking at getting a driclime windshirt however it seems there are 2 different kinds.

Between these two which one would be better for summer hiking? The jacket does have the vertical chest pocket for easy map access. Also it says the Original is new? Did they use to make it and just now brought it back?

Other than one shell material over the other (the latter has a DWR finish)and style, not much.

yes the old original is now new.
The windshirt is more fitted than the jacket and only has the one pocket while the jacket has 3 pockets and is not as fitted.
REI showed us the new windshirt a couple of weeks ago. Seems Marmot finally wised up and brought it back.
I have the jacket and wear it a lot

Actually they both have DWR. Just style I guess.

I have three pockets in my windshirt, two hand and one chest. It is indeed fitted, not really much difference other than the more expensive of the two has a dwr finish..

:-? interesting..we were told the original windshirt only had the chest pocket. Then Marmot added the hand pockets when they made it a jacket

According the the website the "new" windshirt only has the one chest pocket ($85), while the jacket has two hand warmer pockets and a napoleon chest pocket ($100).

The one I have is in blue and black similar in style to the the windshirt, but has two hand warmer pockets and a vertical chest pocket on the main zipper seam.

Sly's right, my windshirt is over two years old, they obviously have done some more things to distinguish between the two.

Yeah, mine was between styles or years. I probably wouldn't have got the (royal) blue and black one, or one at all, but it was on sale at backcountry.com for $65.

I would be buying one of these to wear during the summer. Being long sleeve could they be too hot in 80-90F weather. Im trying to come up with a summer clothes list and read about how everyone likes the driclime.
