I noticed A-Train's 06 hiker listing down below, but didn't see an 07 list yet.
I'm headed out to Campo come mid/late April. Any other Whiteblazers heeding the call of the West?

Yeah, but not that far West.

I'm trying to figure out how to get from the middle of AZ/NM to the ADZPCTKO and back. If you have the chance you should go. It's the last full weekend in April at Lake Moreno (right on the PCT).

Katie Worth (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=166055) - looks like this will be a very entertaining read, i.e., if the 1st 5 pre-hike entries are indicative of what we will see during her hike

in an effort for full disclosure the ADZPCTKO (http://pct77.org/adz) site (btw, the pic on the top of main page is from the 2001 KO, I see the Honeymooners, Brent & Amy on the front row, 4th & 5th from the right) has included a link to the Boycott ADZPCTKO (http://postholer.com/trails/adz.html)

Enjoy... Btw, the ADZPCTKO (http://pct77.org/adz) site has allot of useful info as well as using some interesting web technology..... Suggested reading even if u r not attending the ADZPCTKO.....

There's also something on this by the ADZ site..

About 2 (maybe 3 if you're included) have problems with the KickOff. You don't have to start that weekend, but a few days or weeks before and go back much like Trail Days. The problem is going to be when you reach Kennedy Meadows too early to enter the Sierras. Of course you could start later but run the risks of having it get too hot in the desert or reaching Canada too late.

Add me to the list of those who have problems with the idea of 100 or more people starting the PCT on the same day. We started our PCT hike a week early so we could avoid the crowds. It meant that the stores still had supplies and the hostels still had beds. There was even some water in the caches. I would not want to start my hike in the middle of the herd. Watching the DVD on hiking the PCT (Walk?), I was really struck by the images of groups of hikers walking in lockstep as they left town. Not my idea of a good hike.

yep, i started a week earlier and was at Warner Springs & came back... I never felt like I was in a crowd... It is easy to get a ride back & get allot of valuable info at the KO and meet allot of great west coast people...

Just post to pct-l that u need a ride and say where u will be and it will be no problem...I used pocketmail so it was no problem for me sending & receiving email. Just make sure u subscribe to pct-l before getting on the trail so u can send emails to it but don't receive them from the pct-l.

Hike one trail, you've hiked them all. Planning can be over rated. Buy the guidebooks, the databook and maybe Yogi's PCT book (if you actually want to do some planning). Mail a 4 day drop to Warner Springs and show up at Campo with three days of food and six liters of water carrying capacity. Everything else can be figured out on trail.

I'm thinking about it. I have May-August to kill. I doubt I could do it in 4 months, but I may knock off a large section of it.
