I met a "Trek" in the shelter just North of Marion, VA in 2005 on what would have been his 3rd thru??? I believe this is the same guy...the Trek I met was retired from the military, lived in VT, and usually started hiking around 03:30 each morning...Nice fellow.

Another Trek sighting: I met Trek last July 14 at Birch Glen Camp on Vermont's Long Trail. He was hiking south on the LT. He said he had already thru'd the AT, having started in early February. We had a great chat and he knew many of the frequent Whiteblaze posters and multi-thru hikers. He said that he starts the AT early in the year to avoid the crowds and was one of the first NOBO's to finish in 2006. Very nice guy.

Trek, Ghost and Toothpick were all in Daleville, VA on Friday night. Ghost headed north Saturday afternoon, I believe the other 2 were spending another night before heading north again.

Don't know, this is Ghost's mom. I'll have to ask him what Trek has said next time I talk to him. He has helped my son out with lots of good advice, I'm glad they have had some time together on the trail.
