Check out my write up of a really simple proof of concept I came up with messing around last night. I can't believe I was about to carry a Jetboil!

I'm looking for advice on how to improve the design.

Check out the CAT and variations (super CAT) designs. These stoves use two cans. The inner can is the burner, and the outter can functions as a chimeny.
There are a lot of variations, but they burn as efficiently as the fancy pressure type of stoves. But they are MUCH easier to make.

Another point...don't use isopropyl alcohol. It contains only 70% alcohol. Use dematured or grain alcohol. Grain (Everclear) because it is non-toxic. It is hard to pour a fuel without occasionally spilling it on you. There are real nasty things in denatured alcohol.

These stoves are great...no moving parts...always works!!!:sun
