I am going to buy the Seedhouse 2SL or the Black Diamond Hilight. My ouestion is this, they list a packed weight and a trail weight. Whats the difference? Thanks

Packed weight includes packaging, shipping materials, manuals, etc. Trail weight is just that -- usually, the tent, poles, stakes, and stuff sack.

Just be careful, because some manufacturers list 'trail weight' as just the tent and poles, no stakes, no stuff sacks, etc. That can be a difference of half a pound or more (depending on what they provide with the tent).

You inspired me to do more research at the Big Agnus web site and this is what I found:

Note: we list several weights for our tents to aid your product research.
Trail weight refers to poles, fly and tent body.
Packed weight includes poles, fly, tent body, stakes, guy lines, stuff sacks, instructions, and packaging.
Fast Fly weight refers to the poles, tent fly and accessory Fast Fly footprint.
Thanks much Big Cranky
