I have some IPA I was thinking of using as a marinade for some beef jerky. Will the beer make it go bad or ferment if I do it now for a trip in 3 weeks?

forget about the jerky....just dehydrate the beer :)

i quite frequently marinade my stomach with beer.

It'll be fine but for pete's sake don't waste a pale ale as a marinade. Any beer will do and I doubt you will know the difference in the jerky.
I use it regularly! Acutally, it is great with a jar of orange marmalade for london broil - or any cut for that matter that you want to marinade.
Just marinade overnight, make your jerky, it will be tasty!
I also marinade jerky in wine or guiness.
