I didn't know if anyone knew the differeence between the Leki 25th Anniversary Makalu Trekker (http://mountaingear.com/pages/product/product.asp/imanf/Leki+USA/idesc/25th+Anniversary+Makalu+Trekker/Store/MG/item/112557/N/0) and LEKI Super Makalu Cor-Tec PA AS Poles (http://www.basegear.com/leki-super-makalu-cortec.html)?

The second has the positive angled grip, it leans forward a bit.

Looking again they both have the PA.

I use the LEKI Super Makalu Cor-Tec PA AS Poles (http://www.basegear.com/leki-super-makalu-cortec.html) and found them to be great!! One has developed a bit of a squeak when the spring compresses, but I think a drop of oil will rectify that.

Looking at the pic's I can't see any angle to the Super Makalu's grips. They're a few ounces lighter. Just as an aside: I think antishock systems in trekking poles are a gimmick. The only things they add to the equation are weight, noise, and another moving part to break.
