View Full Version : Starting the approach trail on Saturday. Anybody else with me?

I can't take it any more. I keep practice hiking day and night and I'm just wasting miles that I could be on the AT so I've made Saturday my day of departure. Anyone else on here starting that day?

I dropped Osprey off this morning. The woman at the park office said he was the 5th thru-hiker to sign in by 11AM! So far 25 have signed in at Amicalola and 45 at Mountain Crossings. However, I noticed that most of the 6 or so I met over New Years weren't signed in at either.

Ahh, thanks for the love yall! I'll be taking it easy at first with shorter mileage and some 0 to 1/2 days just to piddle around for whatever reason. No rush here. Just to make it before Baxter closes. So even those that are leaving later just might run into me. Also, I plan on renting a car and going back to Damascus for Trail Days so be looking for me if you want a ride! haha

Thanks again, well, my back tooth has been going bad on me for a while now and I've just ignored it. Yesterday, I was eating and accidently bit down on a small piece of bone and oh God, the pain. So I've decided to have it pulled tomorrow or Friday and be rid of it. If I get some good pain killers out of it, I'm sure my first few days on the trail will be extraordinarily wonderful. lol

I hope to leave out some day this week. I was aiming tommarro afternoon, but friday or saturday seem more likley. I still have some leftover things that need attending.
