I just this minute got a note from a friend who lives in Hot Springs, NC.

Seems the Post office is having staffing problems and will apparently be CLOSED from 11:30 AM til 1 PM each day; also, mail will probably not be available for pick-up til at least 10 AM.

Hikers should remember that all of the hostels hold mail, as does Bluff Mt. Outfitters, in case folks don't want to deal with the P.O.

This information is good to have. On the Northville Placid Trail, I arrived at the Piseco Post Office about 10:05, to find it was closed between 10:00 and 2:00. Had I known ...
