Thanks to everyone for the helpful info. I finally decided on the jungle hammock (http://www.mosquitohammock.com/junglehammock.html) after emailing with Tom. A couple of things I liked (and were not immediately clear to me as a newbie) were:
1) You can simply flip the hammock upside down if you don't want to use the bug barrier.
2) There's a built in sleeve for an insulation mat.

Looking forward to backyard shake down in the next couple of weeks!

Big Cat,

Welcome to the hanging gang...

Don't forget to make sure the botoom and sides are insulated.

Thanks p_p!

Yeah the sleeve for the insulation was one of the features that sold me.

Congratulations! I also have a Jungle Hammock and really like those features. The Claytor hammock seems to be gaining in popularity. I especially like the bouble bottom. Closed cell pads stay in place very well and you can fit one as wide as the hammock if so desired. I use a partially inflated Theramarest which comforms to the hammock shape very well and is very comfortable. Have fun with it.

Msupple, thanks for the review. I was hoping to hear from someone that had tried the hammock with a pad in the sleeve

Sky, thanks for the welcome
