I was reading Zero's current journal, and he mentions that some folks have taken up residence at Siler's Bald shelter. He didn't actually see folks there, but mentions that the shelter is rife with gear, trash and detritus
Anyone know what's going on there?

MY guess would be poor hygiene of recent hikers and gear left behind, etc. Seems a bit off the road for someone to be living there, that mostly happens closer to roads with less hills to go up, never know tho. Maybe its The Pilgrim ? I ran into that situation at Tray mtn shelter back in 91. Smelled of urine and heavy type gear everywhere obviously had been there awhile.
