trail shoes and kilts

If I'm wearing a kilt or skirt with trailshoes, should I have small gaiters for hiking when there is snow on the trail?

What is your experience?

If yes, what brand / model do you recommend?

For snowy conditions I think I would recommend full length (knee high) gaiters rather than the low gaiters. Low gaiters are more adept at keeping leaves and dirt out your shoes in drier conditions. Won't recommend a specific model as there are lots of choices. Campmor offers some inexpensive models.
