a complete thru hike journal with great stories....
im in a reading mood, but i keep reading ones that peter out or turn rubbish after a month or so
Baro's (http://www.trailjournals.com/baro) is a great journal about a hike I no longer refer to by that sometimes-hyphenated term you used.

I love his ending. Could not have been put any better.....
"Then, in a habit which had become deeply ingrained after 2138.5 miles, my eyes automatically searched for the next white blaze. It wasn't there."

Thanks for posting this Sly. I lost the bookmark and was looking to read it again since I just finished re-reading my favorite...Walkin' on the Happy Side of Misery by Model-T!

Thanks! Finishing it would be a challenge, though. It may not be the best of 2006, but it's probably the longest.
Cheers!

I think he's around and if I'm not mistaken showed up at a Gathering a few years back. I don't want to spoil the ending but he had a set back after his hike and as far as I know is doing better. One time he answered an email, you may try to write him.

I'd suggest Marta's too. I guess I'm biased because she told me about it when I met her on the trail and I get a shout-out in it too.

All right, this is embarassing. I'm trying to match "Native Pennsylvanian" with a face. Are you one of the folks I met at Peters Mtn. Shelter?
Cheers!

Yes I am. One of the PSU ers that hiked in all that food and drink. Glad to hear you made. Hopefully we were more help than hinderance. We'll be back out again a few times to feed and intoxicate hikers in need. Just got back from a 4 day section hike around the same area and saw no thru hikers, just one drifter (still helped him out). At the Doyle we were told of a NOBO wo'd already been though.

She's hiking the CDT later this year. I'm surprised she doesn't have a journal going yet.

Thanks, Dawg! You had me going there...I was wondering what the B&T was...and how I could possibly have missed it.

I found this one tonight, it is a PCT journal but vintage. The pictures are a trip into a time machine....that makes me think of my wasted youth.

This year, I'm really enjoying Nicole Lena's. Best one I've found so far. It's well written, descriptive and funny. Any more good current ones?

Yeah, me too. I'm sure she'll put one up though, and I'm sure it too will be a great read.
