Up for Auction is one Heineken Stove

Stove consists of "Ring of Fire" burner.

Burner weighs 34 grams/1.2 ounces

Heineken Pot weighs 37 grams/1.3 ounces

Windscreen weighs 14 grams/1/2 ounce (not shown, made of .oo5 anodized aluminum)

Max fuel capacity 20 ml. Just enough to boil water IN 6 MIN. and remain absorbed to prevent spilling if overturned by accident.

Stove/pot combination is for boiling water to be used by freezer bagger cooks. Wire bail would make for difficult pot cleaning if used for direct method cooking.

Main features are STABILITY STABILITY STABILITY and SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY

Photo one. Shows wick retainer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/obijiwa/heinekinstv001.jpg)band inplace, prevents wick from touching pot.

Photo two. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/obijiwa/heinekinstv002.jpg) Shows pot inside burner.

Photo three shows (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/obijiwa/ringfire002.jpg)stainless steel bail with stainless steel eyelet reinforced holes.

Photo four shows (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/obijiwa/ringfire004.jpg)Isopropyl 91% alcohol. This stove burns this fuel without soot, pot stays clean. Available in most locations.

4th one (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/obijiwa/Heinknbrn015.jpg) just about out of fuel

Being the wick is made of fiberglass, it is not consumed while burning. It should last a long long time if handled with care.

I have to say that it looks like a great stove Zelph. Both you and Skids do a cool job and glad you enjoy your extended hiking hobby.

I wish I could use my stove right now(Etowah $22.00) but had to get off Trail a while ago due to personal family shi.......stuff. A real bummer. I'll be back and section to Damascus hopefully this year and try again soon!

I do however want to throw my my $.03 in to the ring. I have once or twice in my life spent way more than I should for "stuff". For $101.00, I could live on the Trail for a couple of weeks.

Zelph, don't get me wrong about the stove, but to the hiker who bought it, that's kind of like buying a Vulcan Stove(A commercial, professional one) that costs thousands of dollars to just boil water. I'm just not getting it.
Oh well, use it in good health and come to me when you need say, ultralight salt and pepper shakers! I guess P.T. Barnum was right.

Hike On,

Maguro

Egad was just jerkin LeeFs' tree, they were just havin a little fun and I was just going along with it.

LeeF won the auction for $12.00 + shipping and handling $4.50

This is what the stove costs me:

$2.50 for the Heinekin, I don't drink alky, so it went down the drain into the septic system, they say its good for it.

$2.00 for the aluminum cup to make the base of the burner.

$2.00 for the wick, eylets and bail wire, windscreen.

Hope you feel better about the end results of the auction now that you know the Rest of The Story.

Hope you can get back on the trail soon. Good Luck, Good Hike:)

Zelph,
If we hadn't told them any difference the auction might have set precedence for all your future stoves sales! You could be the next undiscovered modern artist; every home in upper Manhattan would have one of your stoves on display next to the paintings of soup cans.

Thanks for offering the stove. I'd love to bid on some of your other types also, that is as long as that Egads fellow isn't competing ;) PM me the address and I'll send a USPS money order your way. I'll try to post pictures when I use the stove on my next section hike.

I want everyone to know that LeeF did not know I was just kidding when I anounced he had won the auction for $101.00. I would have given anything to have seen the look on his face when he saw my post. I kid you not, he did not know. I wonder if he has the brass to fess up and tell us his thougths of that particular moment. waddaya say LeeF?

Thanks to LeeF we had the last laugh!!!!!:banana

LeeF & Zelph,

Thanks for being good sports. I needed a laugh this weekend. I was amazed that we pulled others into believing LeeF was paying $101 for an Heini stove set. LeeF really left himself exposed on this one by posting an open offer.

Zelph,

Please post sequential pics showing how to make the stove along with a list of the materials. My offer still stands if you want to make another one for me.

I made a mistake, Guiness is incorrect. It should read: Fosters
