Just got a new size reg. G.G. vapor trail. Reads 2lbs. on tag and website. Weighed it mult. times at home every time coming in at 35.8oz. Not a big deal just wondering if others have had similar experience.

They don't count the "awesomeness" weight. It usually comes out to 3 or 4 ounces. Nice pack ;)

Interesting. I'm guessing the quoted weight (on the web site) is for a small. The Vapor Trail that I own is a small, and weighs 32 oz. on the money.

No the web quotes for size reg. 2lbs. even. Has it on the tag too. Liars I tell you! :)

It must be your scale.

Send it to me and I'll weigh it for you. Shouldn't take more than a couple years to do the job right. ;)

Dont weigh the bag.

Weigh yourself with the bag then weigh yourself w/o the bag. The difference is the bag.

This method takes away scale offset errors.

Other things come out heavy, too. I took back a Marmot Atom sleeping bag that weighed as much as a better-equipped Western Mountaineering bag.

The Atom weighed 19 oz., should have been 16. The WM bag was supposed to weigh 19 and did. But it had a full-length zipper, which the Marmot bag didn't.

Why would you weigh the scale?

 Sue everyone even remotely involved, it's a travesty that they could make an error of such magnitude throwing your careful weight calculations off and possibly ruining your lifetime dream of a through hike with a 32 oz pack. The blackhearted villians deserve the full scorn of every gram weenie everywhere, and they should descend to the lowest ring of hell.

Oops, you said no big deal and you are right,:D it isn't.

You're not serious about lightweight until you start using grams.:D

You're not serious about going heavy until you pack the scale with you.
