I have a Katadyn Hiker water filter that I've been using for a few years now. I want to change the filter element before my long hike this summer. Katadyn no longer makes the hiker, they have replaced it with the "Hiker Pro". The only replacement filters I can find are for the new "Pro" model. Does anyone know if the new filter elements are compatable with the old style Hiker filter?

Yes, they are.

The "Hiker Pro" model just has a few extra widgets and doodads in the package -- it's the same exact filter as the "Hiker".

Notice the similarities.

If you find them cheaper than $35, clue me in!

Not yet mudhead. I going to keep looking around, but $35-$40 seems to be the standard price. I figured they were compatable since the two models are so similar. I just wanted to be sure before shelling out the money. Thanks guys!

Interesting side note. The latest ULA H2O Amigo Pro uses the same element and it can easily be adapted for use in the older Amigos. And yes, I can't believe it took me this long to figure that out.

Duh! :o
