Ok guys. I've got less than a week before I leave for the trail, and I need a new pair of boots, some polyesther cargo pants that zipper into shorts size 40ish, and a 2 quart pot w/ the arch-flip handle.

I need an outfitter.

I live in Fall River, MA. If anyone knows of any in the area, please let me know. Down to the wire of my first thru-hike, and getting a little intense!

head up to Boston. There is an REI and AN EMS... Ithink on Newbury Street. They will have all you need

If you forget anything, or don't have time to get it, once the hike starts, you can get extra stuff at the store in Needs Gap.

EMS shows locations in Middletown, RI, Cranston, RI and Plymouth, MA. Their "store locator" link is here (http://www.ems.com/locator/locator_main.jsp). REI has stores in Hingham and Framingham MA. Their store locator is here (http://www.rei.com/online/FindStores.do).

The REI and EMS choices are probably better and closer, but there's also North Cove Outfitters in Old Saybrook CT.

Thanks for the info. Found an REI in Middletown. I'll probably be heading there.

Thanks again!

If you do make it to Boston, try Hilton's Tent City, near North Station/Boston Garden. It is not the most eye catching store, but it carries great stuff at a consistently lower price and the staff is first rate. Here is the URL: http://www.hiltonstentcity.com/

THanks guys! I just went today to REI, and picked up the last of my supplies. Got a kick ass pair of boots, polyesther cargo pants/zipper shorts, and a 2 quart pot with hanging handle and lid (for some reason it was impossible to find anywhere else). I have almost everything I need now. I can't wait. I LEAVE THIS SUNDAY! GA here I come!

Good Luck Orin!!

Ps I live in Swansea, across the bridge. Wish i could join you this year!
Whatever you do, don't go to URE outfitters in Hope Valley - rich hunters paradise with overpriced everything
