I discovered a great spoon for eating out of freezer bags. It came from McDonalds in their McFlurry. It has a square handle that makes it very rigid and a somewhat narrow end for those tough corners. It is 7.25 inches long and weighs a mere .2 oz. And, best of all, it is free (assuming you like McFlurries)!

Is a Mcflurry about the same as a Blizzard?

Yeah, but I'll say that the McFlurry spoon is built a bit better :D

Thanks for the heads up on the McFlurry spoon.

The spoon itelf is a bit small for my taste, but the length is perfect and it is sturdy as heck.

A box beam!!

I just gotta ask: The top of the handle has a catch or clip on it.

Por Que? What for?

Miles of Smiles

Also tried to think ow hat I could keep inside the handle, until I spotted the holes. <G>

They use the spoon to mix the shake. It hooks to the mixer, I think.

I wondered that myself. So, I called McDonald's corporate customer service. I was told that the spoon, using the "clip", attaches to a machine that is used to stir the McFlurry as it is made. Hmmm.....learn something new every day.

From a website explaining the process:

The method by which American McFlurries are made is quite ingenious from an engineering (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=engineering) standpoint. The McCrewmember (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=McCrewmember) first takes a a McFlurry cup (Small (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=Small) or Large (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=Large)) and fills it to the top with vanilla soft-serve. He or she snaps a plastic dome-shaped lid onto the cup and then walks over to the McFlurry station and empties a pre-measured portion of the chosen confection into the cup. Finally he or she sticks a McFlurry Spoon in. The McFlurry Spoon is designed with a hollow, 12.5 cm long, 1.5 cm wide square handle made of translucent (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=translucent), heavy-gauge (1 mm thick) plastic. There is no straw functionality in the US version of the utensil, the handle is made hollow only to save material and to allow it to be mounted on the mixer. At the end of the handle is a clip, which attaches onto the rotating axl of the blending machine. The McFlurry-maker engages the mixer while holding the cup, and the spoon acts as a beater (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=beater), blending the candy pieces into the ice cream. The domed lid ensures none of the McFlurry escapes, and using a disposable mixing utensil means less equipment needs to be washed by the crew at the end of the night.

I'm just back from a hike using this spoon as the main one.
the holes are a pain in the neck. Food leaks into the hollow center and either drips out or is a B**** to clean.

I'm going to try to block the holes
