To whomever is the keeper of this list.

The Cloverdale post office needs to come off of this list. I can see no reason why this post office is listed.

In 1977 or there abouts, I gave a female hiker a ride here, she was coming off of Tinker Mtn on the gravel road that was the trail back then. The AT at that time went under 81 on rt 220, then road walked a little ways on rt 11 heading north before it turned right underneath the RR tracks and eventually you came up to Fullhardt Shelter from the other side of the shelter.

I would hate for someone to send a package here by mistake.

Thank you very much.

Hmmm. No firsthand experience.... but the Cloverdale PO is listed in the 2006 ALDHA guide. A google search gives this address & phone number:
3603 Read Mountain Rd
Roanoke, VA 24019 (540) 992-2334
The phone number matches the one in the ALDHA guide.

PS: The above Zip code is suspect. ALHDA guide and this link (http://www.magicyellow.com/category/Government_Post_Offices/Roanoke_VA.html) give the Zip code as 24077.

You're right, no doubt that this post office is alive and well. A new one was built just up the road from the old one room shack many years ago. BTW I took a picture of the old PO this weekend, maybe I'll post it. But the point is that it is no where near the trail now. It wasn't even near it 30/40 years ago but the only one around. There's a post office in Daleville and one in Troutville within a mile of the trail. This post office in Cloverdale is like 2 1/2 miles away.

Again, there is no reason for this post office to even be listed.

Who could we send this off to? I think Laura Foote may be the ALDHA rep in this area.

Many thanks!

I included Cloverdale because it was listed in the Companion.
