View Full Version : Any opinions on the Brunton ADC Summit?

Hikes with a stick

I was able to get one of these at 20% off, and I had been wanting one for a while, so I jumped on it. I had thought about getting a mini weather radio to take along on my hikes, but I am worried about not getting reception, or getting reception from a station that is reporting the weather 30 miles away, not where I am currently at.

Has anyone used this product before? Do you like or dislike it?

I think it is the same one, costs around $150. What do you like or dislike about it? What uses have you found for it?

Paid $99 for it @ an REI sale.

Attaches to shoulder straps of packs upside down for easy reading;
I always know the time;
Thermometer is very acurate (always 2-3 degrees warmer on me then off of me);
Chronograph is great for cooking - I can never remember what time I put the spaghetti on;
I like the alrm function;
I can set EST and MST and just switch between time 1 and time 2 whenever I head west; &
I'm sure there's more

Face gets scratched when I forget about it on my pack strap & lay the pack face down;
Barometer business is worthless, as is the weather forecaster;
Light-up function doesn't work so well - when the LED lights ups, the digits seem to fade;
I don't find the elevation function to be very accurate.

Overall, I use it for the time, temp & alarm...but it is expensive.....
