I just wanted to commit in writing my attempt at a northbound thru-hike starting in April 2008. It will be 13 years since my initial attempt in 1995 (750miles completed) and 7 years since my last notible hike (500 miles). I've set the budget, will quit my job unless I can get a leave of absence, and will start walking north again sometime in April.

Just wanted to wish all those who will be on the trail next year good luck and hope to see you out there.

Thanks for that it will be good to get back out on the trail again. I don't have any advice (Kerby) other than to go out there and have a good time. Everyone has a different style and no one way is better than another, so hike your own hike and do what you want to do, cause I know I will.

When are you starting?
