I'm heading down south to do Erwin to Hot Springs next week and after that, Fontana to Franklin.
I usually hike the first week in May, and I have had some nights down in to the 20's. Once this happened at Loft Mtn Campground (About May 20 for that one) and another time at Overmountain Shelter (May 5). Also, I once froze by a$$ off at The Priest on April 27.
Should I expect bugs or cold nights this year?
