I'll have a couple of important things in my bounce box, but I am worried about not making it to them. For example, what if I mail it 200 miles ahead but I get injured and can't make it there? Can you call and have them forward the package to another PO?

I carried a list of PO phone numbers with me in 2003. When that happened (about 2 - 3 times) I called the PO and had them push the bounce box to the next town. As long as you used "Priority Mail" shipping and do not open the box the PO will push the box forward for you at no charge.

Yes, or you can send a change of address card to the post office. You can also use the change of address cards if you get somewhere BEFORE a package arrives and you want it forwarded when it comes in.

All first class packages can be forwarded, not just priority mail.

Either priority mail or first class mail is cheaper depending on the weight and distance and whether or not you have to buy a box. If your package has priority mail materials or wording on the outside, it must go priority.
