Is there an outfitter in Erwin. I am getting ready to go there for a couple of weeks of hiking before Trail Days and there are a couple of things that I need. I guess I could go to the Outfitter here in Savannah tomorrow before I leave on Friday, but I have a lot to do, and downtown is inconvenient for me. Thanks!

I think there is an outfitter (might be mostly fishing stuff, though - not sure) in Erwin, but most probably go to Mahoney's in JC http://www.mahoneysports.com/. (I drove some hikers there from Miss Janet's last week.)

See you on the trail (& at Trail Days),

there is an outfitter in Erwin, I was there 2 weeks ago. He doesn't have alot, but he does carry packs, and things you might really need. I am at work and don't have the name but I will post it in a few hours when I get home. ANd there are a few in Asheville. Mast General, Eagles Nest, Black Dome Mountain Sports, and DIamond Brand Outdoors.

Your route should take you through Columbia, SC, yes?

The Backpacker (http://www.backpackerqualitygear.com/) is a decent outfitter and only about ten minutes off I-26.

Nice staff. Always friendly to deal with.
