The 3 lbs, 7 oz weight of the tent concerns me a little...

For the price and the glowing review, it sounds like it's too good to be true. I'd like to hear more about it too.

# lb.s 7 oz. is fine so long as that's the real packed weight including guylines, stakes, stuffsacks, etc. and not just the tent body, fly and poles. Sure you can go lighter, but not too much without sacrificing either a tent floor, no-see-um netting, space or lots of all of the above. Sure with a tarp and your hiking poles you can get down under two pounds no sweat, but some of us like a little more of a barrier between us and the outdoors, and a little better weather protection.

3 lbs , 7 ounces is the fantasy "minimum weight" which means no stuffsack, stakes, etc.

Check out www.tarptent.com The cloudburst looks really great, and with a floor and tyvek groundcloth (maybe overkill?) you are still under 3 lbs. Since it has a nice low foot, I would guess that it is even more windworth/storm worth than this tent.
