That's an improvement. Last time I looked, it was rain from Thursday night into Sat morning.

But I'll believe it when I see it.

Now THAT's a job to have. Weather forecaster. Say what you want to say. When you are right you are a genius. When you are wrong, you just move on to the next day with a smile and say not a word about it.

My Forecast for trail days according to history

Thursday Sunny, Hot, Crowded

Friday, HOT and HUMID, a little more crowded with a chance for drunkedness and drum beats.

Saturday HOTTER and HUMIDER with Heavy Afternoon showers and thunderstorms, high winds possible, clearing after the parade with a chance of Billvillianism and late night ranting about incoherence or how discombobulated things are at 4 a.m.

Sunday, depressing and hot.

Actually, I'm usually still there.

I predict rain on Friday afternoon.
Except in Billville, where it will be sunny and mild and funky fresh.

heres a glimps into the inner workings of lonewolfs thaughts as he inspects the troops marching by with his near famouse ceromonial stance outside mt rogers. his eyeballs go back and fourth tracking eack arrival as they cross his threshold of vision. remember in cartoons, the veiw from behind someones eyes out? well thats kinda like what he sees. its all dark around the edges and two eyeshaped veiw holes showing a parade of weirdos, idiots, out of cash bums and drug addicts with the occasional wimpering yuppy wondering why thay are in damascus. lonewolfs eyes go back and fourth as he thinks comments in that brain thinking voice weve all heard in movies. he says stuff like,.....yep,....nope.......yep.........nope..... ..as he judges each patrons ability to find the campground without help.then his brainvoice says stuff like,....yep,...nope,....man o man id like to show her the camps ground. and ,....here comes a loser,...oh wait,..is that?,....it is!....its matthewski!...maby he'll chere me up with some of his imported city wit. ....there goes a looser,....never make it to the camground with that load,........hey matthewski! come on over and watch some freaks? and ill shimmy up a stance and join in. we'll roast the crowds for awhile then do serious drinkin. cannot wait!lol

bikers and hikers are related in a realy serious spiritual way. your road is our trail, your hog is our pack, your hate of confinment is our hate of confinement.and i know your all hikers . ya pritty much cant be a biker without bein a hiker also. what with the carrying all your worldly gear around and sleeping around and all. and you never meat real bikers who dont respect real hikers and visa versa. were just that simular.my personall favorite road crossing biker/ hiker interaction is,...hey hiker,...hey biker,... thats so cool.

Given former TD rain patterns, I'm thinking of tenting on the platform of a pontoon boat that is anchored rather than using the kayck or canoe. Who knows where we would end up in a mobile craft.

Let's just have an "on the river" pontoon campground. It's like thongs for girls with no buts.....just eliminating the inevitable

Paul Bunyan and Blissful are looking forward to great weather at Trail Days! Then we will be back on the trail for a few days starting Sunday to finish off the Blue Ridge Parkway section. Then Harpers Ferry late next week northward to See Shades of Gray in PA, parents in NY, then MAINE all the way.
