looking for Desperado

Can any one tell me what happened to Desperado a trail angel in North Jersey. I went for a quick hikw today from Rt 206 to Gren Anderson shelter and back he usuallu has the bear box filled but today not a trace of him???? Any one know the story on him ?

Could have something to do with the fact that NJ discourages leaving food in bear boxes or anywhere along the trail. Maintainers have been asked to remove any food they find. This is a good thing.
