Just put Mags and Jess on the road back to Boulder after a great dinner (grilled salmon) and a tasty Rhine wine.
We couldn't get to Damascus but had a hiker get-together in Laramie instead.

Yes indeed! BA and Footslogger hooked Jess and I up quite nicely. Gadsen (Jess' dog) also enjoyed the hospitality!
Many thanks again for the awesome salmon and the wine. After a weekend of camping, it was just the perfect thing. I'll have to write a full trip report.
If anyone is in the Medicine Bow area and looking for a nice hike (esp. this time of the year with snow up on the divide) this area works quite well:

Nice meandering creek (with a thigh-high ford!), lots of wild flowers, clear skies at night and the company (that would be Jess, and not her dog :) ) helped, too.
All in all, a great way to spend my 33rd b-day. :)
