Have any of you heard of the plastic cleats for the quick lacing system breaking? I bought extra laces, but I am worried about a cleat busting.

How many months or miles did you get out of these shoes?

I've got about 250-300 milkes on mine. No problems with the lacing system but the mesh tore. It's sewable.

I dont have that pair specifically but i have two similar pairs of salomons, one with that kind of lacing system. It holds up really well. Salomons are pretty sweet shoes. Worth the deniro

Mine have about 350 miles on them and no problem so far.

I got 338 miles on mine. No problem with the laces or cleets breaking. Mine also had the mesh tearing away from the toe starting around 100 miles, and were pretty beat up by mile 300, but structurally, they were ok other than that.

Sweet. I'll bring a sewing kit.

It's sewable.Sorry, I should have known since my wife's newer pair has it, but upon closer inspection I don't have those specific lace holders (cleats?) She doesn't have enough miles on hers to rate their durability.

Where did you get extra laces? I think I should buy a set. I just used them for the first time for thirty miles this weekend. Very comfotable until around mile ten or so when I started to feel every rock and root.

I got the lace kit from REI for $7.50. They look to be a tad thicker than the stock ones.

I've been told you start to feel the rocks and roots after a long day, but I normally get blisters even sooner with boots.

I haven't had any problem with cleats but I did bust a lace in between Wise Shelter and Old Orchard shelter this year. 30 minutes of shoelace surgery and a solid bowline got me all the way to Pearisburg though.
