Ok, I know this is a bit off topic, but I need to bounce this off someone (or many someones, preferably). I'm headed out to Yosemite to do 6 days on the John Muir Trail (planning on no resupplies), but want to use my Vapor Trail. Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Weights are approximate.

Vapor Trail pack
2 lbs
Cat's Meow bag
3 lbs
Bag liner (bag has little loft left)
.5 lbs
Fleece jacket
1 lb
Crocs (fording)
.75 lbs

Bear canister
2 lbs
Prolite 3 sleeping pad
1 lb
Cook kit (pepsi can stove, 3 cup pot, cozy, spork)
.5 lbs

Denatured alcohol
.5 lbs
Headlamp
.25 lbs
Thermals (top and bottom)
1.5 lbs

Winter hat
.25 lbs
Extra socks (smartwool, 1 pair)
.25
Precip jacket
.75 lbs

Instep crampons
1 lb
Nutshell gaiters (low)
.5
Tarptent squall 2
2 lbs

6 days food
12 lbs
1 liter water (in Perrier bottle)
1 lb

That's in the pack. I will be wearing shorts, a t-shirt, medium smartwools, trail runners, boxer briefs, and a Red Sox hat (absolutely necessary), plus my Lekis. That puts me at a 17.75 lb base and a total weight of 30.75 lbs. Am I forgetting something...? It feels like I am. :-?

Thanks guys!

Add another pound for water; I think it's about 2.2 lb per liter.

have fun. looks like you should be comfortable in your gear. I don't know why you are taking instep crampons though. I've done the JMT a few times and never hit black ice. Your hiking poles can be used to self arrest if need be but you should learn the technique and practice. practice, practice.
should be a great trip. (also, since the days are so long, i doubt you'll need a headlamp when a photon micro lite might suffice, but up to you of course, you're carrying it all)
