I sure would like to know this as I am a mouse magnet in the shelters and it sucks.
I am also an avid esbit user, and have been for many years.
I just bought a 24-pack of esbit at MRO in Damascus and it was $2.99--can't beat that !
How long will an esbit tab burn? Maybe you can surround yourself and your gear in an esbit circle and light it.

A friend of mine makes a thing called a "hiker bar". I do not particularly like it as some do...but have been polite when it's offered!
Even though his food bag was hung, his food bag got raided by a "possey" of "peepers" and they pretty much got into a little bit of everything, if not ate most of his stuff.....except...the hiker bars! One corner nibbled thats all! They ain't supid!
