Need to get a tarp for an upcoming section hike

I'm doing a three day hike next week, and there is a chance for rain. I'm a bit worried about it raining and not having a place to cook my meals, I am using a seedhouse 2 for a tent and do not want to cook in the vestibule...

I have read about using tyvec as a ground cloth, would it also work as a rain tarp? How big of a tarp would I need to shelter 4 people while cooking and eating?

Tyvek would work under rain for a brief period. It will eventually wet out, but that isn't going to happen over the course of an hour or so, even under heavy rain. 8'x10' should work for four. Question- why are you responsible for keeping everyone dry?
